303’s Perth office is preparing for a leadership handover, with Managing Director René Migliore set to step down at the end of March after a stellar 14-year tenure across two stints with the agency.
Migliore, who has led the Perth business since 2019 after being promoted from General Manager in 2017, has been one of the key architects of the office’s evolution – expanding its remit beyond traditional advertising and repositioning the agency around an integrated, entrepreneurial model.
His departure marks the end of a defining chapter for the Western Australian arm of the network, as 303 sharpens its independent mindset and prepares for its next phase.
From business management to market architect
Migliore first joined 303 in 2006, working in business management before leaving in 2013 to hone his brand and media skills at several agencies.
He returned four years later to what was then known as 303 MullenLowe and quickly rose to lead the Perth office.
During his tenure, the agency shifted its focus from a traditional advertising model to a broader suite of strategic, creative, media and brand services, winning diverse business and strengthening its market position.
That transformation was underpinned by talent investment, an embrace of the agency’s entrepreneurial roots, and a willingness to push creative boundaries.
“I’ve always been a strong believer in the 303 brand, our work and our incredible people,” Migliore said.
“Together, we’ve worked hard to build a rich ensemble and more diverse capabilities that enable the agency to tackle a wider array of client challenges, from business strategy to brand planning to creative, media, and design solutions.
“This evolution has been rewarding and an effective strategy for us in this market. I’m supremely confident and excited to see this team driving 303’s success.”
A leadership transition – and a statement of intent
As Migliore steps aside, the Perth office will be overseen by Chief Strategy Officer Matt Oakley and General Manager Kylie Macey, with support from CEO Sue Squillace, Executive Chairman Anthony Gregorio, and the local senior leadership team.
Squillace said Migliore’s leadership had shaped both the culture and the business’s commercial direction.
“As leader of the Perth business, René has dedicated himself to delivering bold, creative media and business solutions tailored to the local market,” she said.
“This commitment has seen him attract a talented leadership team that will continue his legacy of collaboration and new media thinking.
“We thank him for the years he has given to this company, his mentorship within the agency and the broader industry, and his tireless advocacy of Western Australian creativity. We look forward to seeing where he will apply his passion and talent next.”
What’s next for Migliore?
While stepping away from day-to-day leadership, Migliore says he is not leaving the industry.
“The agency is in a strong position, and with an outstanding team in place, 303 is perfectly geared to continue the agency’s success,” he said.
“This agency and this industry have given me so much, and although I’m looking at taking a slight detour, I’ll remain strongly connected. I have more to give back, and I’m not done with the industry just yet!”
Migliore will remain with the business until the end of March to ensure a smooth transition for staff and clients.
