Top 25 Media People in 2015: Australian Regional Media boss Neil Monaghan

With the start of the new year, we take a look back at the top 25 media personalities who stood out in the Australian media landscape in 2015.

NEIL MONAGHAN
CEO, Australian Regional Media

Neil MonaghanCould this be the sleeping giant of the APN News & Media group? Possibly not, but Monaghan has launched some significant initiatives this year, not least of all the digital subscription packages for the regional titles that remain influential across major northern NSW and Queensland regional cities. And what a package it is – in addition to full digital access to the local title, customers get deals with News Corp Australia, Presto, The Washington Post and Fox Sports. The regional media exec has a colourful CV that ranges from PNG to South Africa to Dublin (five years with Independent News & Media) and he worked his way to the top at ARM after three years in Brisbane in other roles for APN. The dailies are reasonably well known, but also in the arsenal for advertisers are 28 non-daily newspaper brands.
