Bunnings has reappointed PHD Aotearoa, part of Omnicom Oceania, as its NZ media agency following a competitive review.

The reappointment extends a 24-year relationship, one of the longest of its kind in the local market.

The partnership has continued to evolve alongside changing customer behaviours, local and global conditions and business priorities, demonstrating an enduring ability to deliver value through every stage of Bunnings’ growth in NZ.

Abby Parkin, CEO, PHD Aotearoa, Omnicom Oceania, said: "Our partnership with Bunnings has endured because we've continued to evolve and challenge the work we produce together.

“We're incredibly proud of our 24 -year partnership with Bunnings and grateful for the confidence they've continued to place in our team. The pitch process gave us a great opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve achieved together and time to build a vision for what’s to come,” added Parkin.

Bunnings is represented by PHD on both sides of the Tasman, giving the retailer the benefits of a connected ANZ media approach with local insight and understanding.

This enables greater strategic alignment, faster sharing of insights and innovations, and consistent planning, while preserving locally led perspectives that reflect the unique dynamics of each country. The result is a more connected approach that helps Bunnings maximise the impact and efficiency of its media investment across the region.

In Australia, Bunnings has held onto the trust crown, taking out Roy Morgan’s ‘Best of the Best’ Most Trusted Brand award for a third consecutive year.

The hardware retailer also extended its unbeaten run as Retail Brand of the Year to eight years, having won the category every year since the Trusted Brand Awards began in 2019. Roy Morgan recognised 22 category winners for 2026, with 19 retaining their titles from last year.

Roy Morgan chief executive Michele Levine said: “Just as impressively, Bunnings has an unblemished record with eight straight victories as the ‘Most Trusted Retail Brand of the Year’ (2019-2026) – an outstanding result amidst a challenging economic environment.”
