Nova’s Red Room welcomed a familiar favourite last night, with Vance Joy returning to the stage for an intimate performance at Sydney’s Paddo Inn.
The exclusive show saw just 150 guests take in the singer-songwriter’s latest material alongside the hits that cemented his place as one of Australia’s most recognisable voices.
The appearance marks Joy’s second Red Room set in recent years, following his 2022 Brisbane performance.
This time, the global folk-pop heavyweight brought a stripped-back warmth to the inner-east venue, blending fan nostalgia with a preview of his current creative era.
Hits, new tracks and a crowd-wide chorus
Opening with Mess is Mine, Joy moved through a carefully curated setlist including Georgia, Saturday Sun, Fire and the Flood and recent releases Divine Feelings and Fascination in the Dark.
The night closed with a full-venue singalong to Riptide, proving some choruses only need a guitar and a room full of committed fans.
The new tracks follow the artist’s double A-side drop in late 2024, marking his first new music since 2022’s In Our Own Sweet Time.
The fresh releases continue Joy’s blend of tender, hook-driven songwriting and acoustic-leaning pop – a formula that has fuelled more than 10 billion streams, global tours and collaborations with Taylor Swift.
The Red Room gig served as a warm-up before Joy heads to Adelaide this weekend for Harvest Rock Festival.
