Sony has been named the Official Camera Technology Partner for Tropfest 2026.
On Sunday 22 February, Sony will give $50,000 worth of cameras to Tropfest award winners to supporting emerging filmmakers.
Each of the first, second and third place winners will receive a Sony camera and lens combo, $50k, $30k and $20k respectively, and a Google package.
Sony will also present a dedicated Cinematography Award, with the winner receiving a complete camera and lens package valued at $19,800.
“At Tropfest, we’re proud to partner with blue-chip brands, and we see Sony as one of the true blue-chip brands in the world,” said Tropfest founder and director John Polson.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to championing the next generation of filmmakers by putting world-class tools into their hands.”
Sony will also host a session at Tropfest Roughcut, alongside other leading industry professionals, which will focus on cinematography, technical practice and career journeys.
