The winner will receive a Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid, positioning the prize as both a symbolic and practical boost to an emerging creative career.
Lucas Harris, Chief Operating Officer, Chery Motor Australia, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on innovation.
“With innovation at the heart of everything we do at Chery, we are proud to partner with Tropfest, a festival that echoes our desire to support forward-thinking creativity. We look forward to contributing to an unforgettable festival experience, celebrating the bold ideas shaping Australian storytelling and supporting emerging talent.”
Chery’s flagship Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid will also serve as the Official Vehicle of the Festival, transporting members of the film community to and from the venue.
On-ground activations and brand experiences
Beyond the award, Chery will activate across the festival site with a series of audience-facing experiences.
The Chery Road Ahead Lounge will offer festivalgoers the chance to explore vehicles from the Chery range, alongside complimentary popcorn between screenings.
A custom Chery vehicle will also be converted into the Chery Mobile Black Carpet Studio, a purpose-built interview space featuring professional lighting and a fixed-camera setup.
Finalists, VIP guests and industry figures will step inside for live interviews captured on-site.
The brand will also launch the Chery Filmmaker Challenge, an initiative set to be announced at the event and designed to further engage Australia’s filmmaking community.
A platform for emerging talent
The partnership reinforces Tropfest’s positioning as a launchpad for new creative voices, with Chery seeking to connect its brand values of ambition and forward momentum with Australia’s next generation of storytellers.
Tropfest is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW and Screen NSW.
