Triple M unveils star-studded Ashes commentary team

It will be stacked with legends from both Australia and England.

With the 2025–26 Ashes Series just weeks away, Triple M has announced a blockbuster commentary lineup featuring cricket royalty from both sides of the world, including James Brayshaw, Mark Taylor, Sir Ian Botham, and David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd.

The series, beginning Friday 21 November in Perth, will be broadcast live across Triple M’s metro network and streamed on LiSTNR. Fans can expect full coverage of every ball and boundary, along with brand-new technology designed to enhance the live listening experience.

Australian legends behind the mic

Leading the call for Australia are Brayshaw, Taylor, Mark Howard, Greg Blewett, Brad Haddin, Mark Waugh, Merv Hughes, Matthew Hayden, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Johnson, Callum Ferguson, Jack Heverin, and Dan Ginnane. Collectively, they bring more than 500 Test caps and over 1,800 first-class matches’ worth of experience.

England joins the call

Adding an international touch are English greats Sir Ian Botham, Graeme Swann, Isabelle Westbury, and the returning David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd. The UK contingent promises to bring humour, rivalry, and balance to the Aussie-heavy lineup.

“I’m absolutely rapt to get back on Aussie soil and join Triple M’s commentary team for the Ashes,” said Lloyd. “For every young cricketer, it’s their dream to play in the Ashes — and to commentate on it is the next best thing.”

New LiSTNR technology enhances live experience

In a first for the network, LiSTNR will roll out new in-stadium live streaming technology offering ultra-low latency audio directly to fans at the ground, allowing them to hear Triple M’s call in real time, without delay.

Beyond match coverage, cricket fans can also access exclusive content across LiSTNR podcasts including Willow Talk with Alyssa Healy, Adam Peacock, and Haddin, as well as The Howie Games featuring Mitch Starc and Alex Carey’s Ashes journey.
