Ticker News has launched Broker Business, a new weekly program hosted by Rex Afrasiabi and aimed at Australia’s mortgage and finance broking sector.
The show is designed to serve the more than 20,000 brokers operating nationwide, focusing on the practical realities of building, scaling and protecting a profitable and compliant broking operation.
A broker-to-broker format
Each week, Afrasiabi, Founder and Principal of New Chapter Legal, sits down with leading brokers, lenders and industry experts to unpack what is working in the current market.
Drawing on his background in commercial law, business advisory and civil litigation, Afrasiabi brings a legal and risk lens to discussions around deal structuring, compliance and long-term growth.
“We’ve designed Broker Business to be a practical, broker-to-broker format, that strips away all the sales talk in order to focus on what matters most to an industry of more than 20,000 mortgage and finance professionals who live and breathe this space,” Afrasiabi said.
Afrasiabi is also a Director of New Chapter Legal, a commercial and property law firm specialising in commercial litigation.
His career includes serving as a senior solicitor to high-profile Australian entrepreneurs.

Ticker expands its B2B slate
Ticker News CEO Ahron Young said the program aligns with the network’s focus on niche business audiences.
“We are very pleased to welcome Broker Business to Ticker,” Young said.
“What Rex and New Chapter Legal are doing is exactly what we built Ticker for, creating a platform to talk to bespoke and defined B2B audiences in a way that helps them in their professional lives.”
“Brokering is central to our economy, and this is just another example of how Ticker can bring to life an industry in a simple, accessible way and turn it into a full TV show.”
The network said live TV viewing is up 37% year-on-year, with BVOD viewing increasing 49%. Upcoming programs launching in partnership with commercial partners include Cannabiz In Conversation and The Founder’s Method.
Ticker operates from a dedicated studio in Melbourne’s CBD and offers remote dial-in options for guests and partners.
