Ticker News is taking business conversations beyond the boardroom with Whisky & Suits, a new weekly series hosted by Imran Khan and Chris Christofi.

Launching Thursday, 27 August, the program will explore property, investment, finance and entrepreneurship through conversations with Australian investors, business leaders and dealmakers.

Business after the meeting ends

Whisky & Suits aims to move beyond market commentary and company profiles. Episodes will examine how guests built their careers, the risks they took, the deals that changed their lives and the mistakes they made along the way.

Christofi said the idea was to recreate the more candid discussions that often happen once formal business meetings finish.

“Some of the best conversations in business happen after the meeting, when people stop talking in corporate language and start telling you what they really think,” Christofi said.

He said the program arrives as property and investment face major changes driven by housing policy, development rules, taxation and financing conditions.

Khan said the series would focus on what sits behind major deals and successful businesses.

“We all hear about the big deal or the successful business, but rarely do we hear enough about what happened behind it. The difficult decisions, the risks, the setbacks and the moments that changed everything,” Khan said.

Joe Hachem and Guy Naselli among first guests

The first episodes will feature Joe Hachem, Australia’s first World Series of Poker Main Event champion. He will discuss his move from chiropractor to poker world champion, as well as how poker has shaped his approach to risk and business.

Hachem will also discuss Birdies & Bluffs, his charity golf and poker event supporting the Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation.

Commercial property veteran Guy Naselli, founder and managing director of NSL Property Group, will examine the commercial real estate market. His episode will cover what makes an investment stack up, warning signs that can derail a deal and issues landlords and tenants can overlook.

Ticker expands its property programming

Ahron Young, Ticker founder and CEO, said the series extends the network’s property and business coverage while placing more emphasis on the people behind investment decisions.

“But what makes Whisky & Suits different is that it isn't just another property show. Chris and Imran are getting to know the investors, entrepreneurs and dealmakers themselves. How they think, what drives them and what they have learned when things haven't gone according to plan,” Young said.

Whisky & Suits will air on the Ticker News TV channel and will also be available through the Ticker app, website and social media platforms.
