2GB claims back its #1 ranking in Sydney

It didn’t take long for 2GB to claim back its #1 ranking in Sydney, after losing its top spot for the first time in 18 years to KIIS FM. The station regained 0.8 points as it made it’s way back to the top.
In breakfast, Ben Fordham is still the #2 overall breakfast show while being the #1 AM program with a share of 14.7% (up 0.7 points). Drive with Chris O’Keefe has shot up 1.1 points to 6.8%. The station was mostly up in demographics across the board, with the biggest rise being in 18-24 where it was up 4.3 points.

KIIS FM has slipped back down to be the #2 radio show in Sydney after losing 0.4 points. Kyle and Jackie O are still breakfast champs with 15.1%, down 0.8 from survey 1, which was their best result ever.  Will and Woody remain leaders in drive, with a steady 13.7% share. The station continues to post amazing cume audiences with 1,346,000 which is an increase of 29,000.

smoothfm remains #3 in Sydney after declining by 0.6 points. The station still remains second overall in cume after a steady audience of 1,217,000, trailing only KIIS FM.  In breakfast, Bogart Torelli and Ron Wilson were up 0.6 points to be the #4 breakfast show in Sydney.  Drive maintained the second-highest share in the timeslot, with 9.6%.

WSFM continues its rise, adding 0.5 points to help inch it close to the 10% threshold. Jonesy and Amanda have lifted 0.7 points for the second survey in a row, coming in with a 10.2% share, making them third overall in the breakfast slot.

Nova remains at #5 after losing 0.4 points. The new-look breakfast lineup of Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie remained steady after gaining 0.1 points. The newish drive lineup of Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel lost 0.6 points.

Triple M has continued its surge adding 1.1 points to the 0.6 it added in survey 1, bringing its share to 6.1%. It also has added 48,000 to its cume, bringing it to 779,000. This is the second survey since Mick Molloy jumped in the breakfast seas alongside Mark ‘MG’ Geyer. It’s positive signs so far for the pair, with the show lifting 0.6 points for a total share of 5.8%, an increase of 1.4 this year. The Rush Hour drive program is up 1.0 points to 7% as the key dayparts continue to perform well.

After dropping 0.6 points in survey 1 of the Sydney radio ratings, 2Day FM has hit back with an increase of 1.1 points. The breakfast shift with Hughesy, Ed and Erin has also jumped up by 1.1 points as it established a market share of 5.4%.

2UE stayed steady, recording a share of 4.4% share. This steady result was reflected across most of the day parts.

Cume: 248,000 (+27,000)

Best Breakfast 2.3% (1.4%)

Sky Sports Radio is steady at 1.6%, just 0.4 points shy of the 2% the station posted in survey 4 last year, which was the station’s best result in over seven years.

SEN is down 0.2 points overall while losing 0.3 points in breakfast, with the station now recording an 0.8% share. Breakfast with Vossy and Brandy came in with 0.5%, up from 0.3%. Afternoon and Drive were the two strongest dayparts with 0.8% and 0.9% respectively.
