Publicis Groupe ANZ has paid tribute to long-serving finance executive Karen Colin-Thome, who died peacefully on Monday morning following a battle with cancer. She spent more than 35 years with the business, holding senior finance roles across several of the group's agencies.

Colin-Thome began her career at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1989 before joining Leo Australia as finance director. Most recently, she worked with Publicis Production, contributing to the growth and operations of several of Australia's leading agency businesses throughout her career.

A career spanning more than three decades

Known to colleagues as KCT, Colin-Thome was recognised within the organisation for her leadership, resilience and commitment. Publicis Groupe ANZ said she was a trusted mentor and colleague whose influence extended across generations of employees.

Michael Rebelo, CEO of Publicis Groupe ANZ, reflected on working with Colin-Thome over many years.

“One of my earliest memories of working with KCT was as a young account manager at Saatchi & Saatchi. She was fiercely committed to her work and deeply invested in the success of those around her, but what I will remember most is her warmth, generosity, unwavering commitment to our company and unmistakable sense of humour,” Rebelo said.

He said Colin-Thome had helped shape the culture and success of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, Leo Australia and Publicis Production during her career, while continuing to approach life with optimism and determination throughout her illness.

“KCT was more than a colleague. She was part of the fabric of our Groupe, and her legacy will be measured not by the years she spent with us, but by the countless people she supported, mentored and inspired along the way. She will be profoundly missed,” Rebelo said.
