Meta has launched Meta One in Australia, bringing subscription tiers across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, with single-app plans starting at AUD 3.99 a month and business packages reaching AUD 769 a month.

Meta says its Meta One plans have recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials to date, with more than 50 features launched across its apps. The company says the core experience across its apps and Meta AI will remain free, while paid tiers offer higher AI usage, additional personalisation and professional tools.

What Australians will pay

Meta One spans single-product subscriptions, individual bundles and higher-priced packages aimed at creators and businesses.

  • WhatsApp Plus costs AUD 3.99 a month, while Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus each cost AUD 5.49.
  • Core costs AUD 11.49 a month and Premium costs AUD 29.99, combining features from the three individual apps with greater access to Meta's AI tools.
  • Creator and business plans start with Essential at AUD 22.99 a month and Advanced at AUD 76.99, while Expert starts at AUD 229 and Max at AUD 769.

Meta says pricing, features and availability may vary by region, app and account.

More AI sits behind the bundle

Core and Premium combine the company's single-product features with higher usage limits for some of Meta's more compute-intensive AI capabilities.

Subscribers can generate and edit more images, create more video with Meta AI using its Muse models, and use in-app AI features such as Restyle on Instagram more frequently.

Meta said that in early testing, more than half of subscribers used both AI and expression features in its bundled plans. Restyle and Instagram voice effects were among the features it identified as leading reasons people subscribed.

The single-app products launched earlier this year. Instagram Plus includes features such as custom fonts for DMs and Stories and Story-view notifications, while Facebook Plus is adding Messenger customisation and expanded Reels insights. WhatsApp Plus includes additional personalisation features and will test tools including scheduled Focus modes and backup storage.

Meta targets creators and businesses

The creator and business tiers move beyond personalisation, adding tools intended to help accounts manage audiences, publishing and customer interactions.

Features include enhanced profiles, a more prominent follow button on Reels and automated invitations for people who engage with content to follow an account. Subscribers can also receive greater access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp.

The Essential plan includes a verified badge, a verified channel in the WhatsApp Business app and impersonation protection, subject to successful verification.

Advanced adds features including scheduling Stories up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and the ability to give team members account access without sharing a password.

Meta also plans to add Edits Plus to Meta One, bringing additional cloud storage for projects and greater access to an upcoming Edits assistant designed to analyse Instagram insights and help generate content ideas.

Meta says Meta One is being introduced globally, with its benefits continuing to expand to products including Edits and AI glasses over time.
