If you're a pet owner like me - obsessed - you'll most likely be thinking of the upcoming problem of talking your dog for a walk in summer.

An Australian summer, that is. 

When the temperature can reach 35+ for days on end, making the pavement even hotter - and completely unsuitable for little paws.

And then of course there's the very real and high risk of heat stroke.

But it's impossible to stay inside for the whole season; you both need some fresh air. A change of scenery. And icecream.

Why you need a ‘BMW’-esque pram for your fur baby

I've noticed small dogs in prams, and always thought they were a little indulgent. I was very wrong. There's actually no better outdoor accessory in summer than proper transport.

I know from experience carrying a small dog around can feel sticky in summer, and it can be cumbersome, and inconvenient, when you're reduced to one free hand.

I've also never seen one that looks so stylish and feels so stable.

1. Safety - Heat stroke, sunburn, little paws.

With the Tavo range for small dogs (the seat can be transferred like a baby capsule to the car), you're covered for the summer - literally.

If you need to pop to the shops, especially for an air conditioned break, the Tavo is such a help. While Churchill is comfortable, I can run errands not having to worry about him being in one of my arms, or getting stomped on.

I can also throw in things like his dog bottle and dog wipes, without having to carry a bag.

Of course, and perhaps most importantly in his mind, the Tavo helps with Churchill's small dog complex. Like many small dogs, what he lacks in size he makes up for with denial - and riding high on the Tavo adds to his big dog delusions.
