Foxtel to get new CEO as Patrick Delany set to move to London
“Two sources, not permitted to speak publicly, confirmed the change, which could be announced as early as this week.”

Foxtel chief executive Patrick Delany will relocate to London to become an executive for streaming platform Dazn.
AFR made the announcement this morning and reports that Delany will be replaced by Amaysim founder Peter O’Connell “in a leadership overhaul at one of Australia’s biggest media companies.”
AFR further reports that: “Two sources, not permitted to speak publicly, confirmed the change, which could be announced as early as this week. Foxtel declined to comment.”
It's a time of big change at the media giant, with last week's announcement that Foxtel Media has become DAZN Media+. The rebrand follows DAZN’s acquisition of Foxtel Group in 2025.
Delany led Foxtel into sports and entertainment streaming (including Kayo Sports and Binge) and recent major milestones, such as the landmark NRL broadcast rights agreement.

It is reported that Delany will move to the United Kingdom as Dazn’s chief operating officer. The promotion, which The Australian Financial Review revealed in March, will give him a global leadership role in a company backed by British-Ukrainian billionaire Len Blavatnik.
O’Connell is the chairman of telecommunications brand Superloop and luxury car retailer Autosports Group. He's a former lawyer who was a partner at Minter Ellison and Gilbert + Tobin, and co-founded Amaysim in 2010.
End of an era at Foxtel
The re-shuffle is the end of an era at the media company.
Delany began to lead it after the 2018 merger with Fox Sports Australia, and navigated competition in Australia from the introduction of Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.
The AFR reports that, “Foxtel has been steadily moving away from the “Fox” brand name to a combination of Dazn and its own Kayo branding. Last week, the company said it would sunset the Fox Sports brand from next year.”
In further changes, Fox Sports will become Kayo Sports, while the Fox Sports channels will become Kayo Footy, Kayo Cricket and Kayo League.
