Travel Tuesday 2026

News Australia is adding a boarding pass to the Cyber Week shopping basket, signing Helloworld, Flight Centre, Jetstar, Intrepid Travel and Inspiring Vacations for a month-long deals campaign culminating in Travel Tuesday on 1 December.

The Travel Tuesday initiative will run across the publisher’s digital, print and social channels, giving travel advertisers a dedicated sales platform as consumers look for holiday deals during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period.

Weekly deal hubs, digital guides and curated social video will feature throughout November across Escape, Travel + Luxury, news.com.au and state mastheads, including The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, The Courier-Mail and The Advertiser.

Travel brands chase Cyber Week bookings

The campaign comes as News Australia looks to capture growing interest in travel offers during the annual sales period.

Google Trends data cited by the publisher shows Australian searches for “travel deals” in November 2025 were 85% higher than the year’s average. Research from The Growth Distillery’s August 2026 retail study found 72% of Black Friday intenders planned to purchase holiday packages, flight deals and room upgrades.

News Australia Client Partnerships National Head of Travel Emily Ross said the campaign would give advertisers access to consumers preparing to book.

“Australians are actively looking to lock in their holidays during Cyber Week, and our Travel Tuesday event gives our partners a highly focused stage to present their hero deals. By connecting brands with travellers ready to book at the precise moment purchase intent peaks, we are giving our travel partners an unmissable platform to capture high-value bookings.”

Print wraps and homepage takeovers

The campaign will culminate on Tuesday 1 December with print wraps, homepage takeovers and live deal trackers across the network.

News Australia says its audience includes 13.2 million people planning a holiday in the next 12 months, citing Roy Morgan iris data for the year ending June 2026.

News Australia Head of Travel Kerrie McCallum said editorial teams would curate holiday offers alongside travel advice.

“Cyber Week is one of the most exciting shopping periods of the year but planning travel requires trusted advice. Travel Tuesday allows our editorial teams to curate genuine, high-quality holiday opportunities, giving our readers the inspiration and confidence they need to book their next great trip.”

The five launch partners will showcase special offers throughout the campaign, building to the dedicated December sales event.
