Martin Brundle lost Kim Kardashian with one snarky comment

‘My theory is that with his British accent and pompous attitude, Kardashian confused him for the former Prince Andrew, so recoiled in revolt.’

People are outraged with Kim Kardashian, again.

Of all the crimes the billionaire influencer has committed in her time in the public eye, she’s finally apparently gone too far with a massive slap in the the face to the very institution that’s made her a household name: the media.

On the weekend, she attended the most recent Formula 1 race in Monaco to support her new boyfriend (and my imaginary boyfriend) Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.

Kardashian joined the throngs on the highly exclusive grid just before the race started. There, she was accosted by a stalwart of F1, British journalist and retired driver, Martin Brundle. Brundle is known for his pre and post-race spontaneous interviews of high profile people, his schtick being catching them in candid moments.

Brundle pushed his way to Kardashian and asked her, “Kim, Martin Brundle Sky F1, how are you today?”

After seeming a bit unsure, a member of Kardashian’s entourage leaned in to give her an explanation, while a peeved Brundle muttered to himself – not to her directly, which is what made it snarky – “Yeah, normally people have a quick chat with us.”

As though he wasn’t speaking to the ultimate media guru.

That was actually the moment that made me cringe, because it’s almost as if he was saying, “Don’t you know who I am?”

Well, she might or might not know him, but her answer isn’t the point – his response is. It’s 2026, Brundle. Implying a woman is doing something wrong by not giving you what you want the second you demand it is a sure way to alienate her. And it’s not a good look for you.

After his ‘don’t you know who I am’ moment, Kardashian looked at him blankly from behind ginormous sunglasses. Actually, to be fair, we can’t read into that too much – she might have been smizing (smiling with her eyes) but they were covered up.

Kardashian gave him a small wave and moved on. As she did, the reporter quipped a tad bitterly into the microphone, “Okay, so we’re not talking today.”

My theory is that with his British accent and pompous attitude, Kardashian confused him for the former Prince Andrew, so recoiled in revolt.

But whatever the reason, Kardashian ‘failed’ to do what was suddenly expected of her by a complete stranger, when she’s not working, so naturally a clip of the exchange went viral.

“Some ‘celebrities’ need to get a grip when on the grid walk for the F1, they should be kicked off if they don’t want to chat. Kim Kardashian take note. Martin Brundle his funny self as usual lol,” wrote one.

This comment was more scathing: “Didn’t we just know Kim Kardashian would refuse to speak to Martin Brundle. Famous for absolutely nothing if any import, can’t carry an umbrella herself & she ignores Martin when talented sports persons & international actors embrace him.

“She has no place on our grid.”

And while some viewers of the clip sided with Kardashian as she, as with other WAGs (wives and girlfriends) was under no obligation to speak to the press, not one person called out Brundle for his entitled, unreasonable and utterly unprofessional attitude.

The heated debate in the media and online has been about her.

Until now.

So let’s reframe the viral clickbait headlines like, Kim Kardashian rebukes iconic reporter, and tell the truth: Reporter throws small tanty when Kim Kardashian doesn’t know who he is.
