Martha Stewart makes highly unnecessary comments about Meghan Markle
Stewart has officially joined the ranks of haters and it's not clear why.
Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart was reportedly not impressed after dining with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
"I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night," Stewart said in an interview with People.
“We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace. I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
What a snitch.
Stewart added, in reference to Markle's Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, “If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn’t sort of follow.”
However, sources have now denied Stewart's account of the evening.

Host denies Stewart's claims about Markle
The host of the dinner party has now spoken to People and denied Stewart's claims about what Markle apparently said.
“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” the source says.
“Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”
They added, “Meghan has always been a fan of Martha’s and enjoyed getting to meet her briefly at the dinner."
It's not the first time Stewart has spoken about Markle.
In an interview with Yahoo News Australia last year, she said of the Duchess's foray into the lifestyle genre:
“Meghan, I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about. Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
Meghan Markle's Netflix show earns Emmy nod after backlash
Despite the criticism from a person whom some would call a doyenne of domesticity, Markle's Netflix series With Love, Meghan earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category, as Mediaweek reported in July.
"A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on 'With Love, Meghan' on @netflix," Meghan wrote on Instagram.
"We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series!"
The program premiered in March 2025, running for two seasons with an additional Christmas special. But the honour has come as a surprise to many.
The show was widely labelled "unrelatable," with the Duchess being slammed for her "aspirational and unachievable" content.
However, the show was evidently enjoyed by many, and they welcomed the Emmy nomination news enthusiastically.
For example, one viewer said online, "This is literally the only reason I will watch the Emmys this year."
Another enthusiastically wrote, “Oh Duchess Meghan, the woman you are! Congratulations on your creative achievement! This was like your lovesong to all things cosy, yummy and beautiful! I'm so happy for you!!!”
