The 2025 TV Week Logie nominees were revealed this morning with nominations across 23 categories. Mediaweek has crunched the numbers on who the winners and losers are of today’s reveal. Of course, there are no losers… it’s an honour to be nominated…
Voting is open now for the 65th TV Week Logie Awards. The show itself will be broadcast live on Seven and 7Plus on 3 August, 2025. Sam Pang will host for what will be his third consecutive year.
An increase of nominations for (almost) everybody
Once again the ABC dominates the Logie award nominations, leading all of the networks with 45 nods across the 23 categories. There are some categories where the ABC dramatically outperforms the commercial broadcasters, notably Best Children’s Program where it took all six nominations (it shares Little J and Big Cuz with NITV). As impressive as 45 nominations are, it is down from 50 last year.
In terms of the commercial networks, Nine leads with 23 nominations. Once you add in nominations from the Nine-owned subscription service Stan, that’s a total of 32 nominations. It’s a good year for Nine, with the network up four nominations from last year and Stan up an additional two nominations. Ten was up three nominations on last year (four, if you want to include Paramount+), while Seven was up an additional one nomination. Even Foxtel Group found itself a little bit up with four nominations across its subscription platforms Foxtel, BINGE, and Kayo.
Not faring so well this year was Prime Video. Last year the US-owned streamer saw eight nominations for shows including Deadloch, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, and documentary Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles. This year, it failed to see any nominations.
Meanwhile, SBS found itself down five nominations last year to just the one. Without Safe Home or Erotic Stories on the schedule, it was only the appropriately-titled Alone drawing the Logie eye.
If you do the math, you’ll find that even with Prime Video and SBS down on nominations, that still doesn’t quite show why there were so many networks and streamers up in vote tally this year. The extra numbers are aided by an increase in categories this year with the addition of the popular vote category: The Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Reporter.
