It was a big weekend for Kyle Sandilands, who married his partner Tegan Kynaston on Saturday in a lavish ceremony at Darling Point’s Swift Mansion.
The guest list included names such as Jackie O, Guy Sebastian, Karl Stefanovic, Beau Ryan, and John Ibrahim – as well as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Back on air for KIIS FM on Monday morning (with a honeymoon planned for the mid-year radio ratings break), Sandilands spoke about having the nation’s leader at his big day.
“I’m sitting in the hotel getting ready, Bruno [Bouchet] was with me and Bruno’s shuffling around doing what Bruno does, he’s always looking at the computer,” sais Sandilands on air. “He goes ‘listen to these old assholes on the ABC,’ and there were a couple of old blokes discussing whether the Prime Minister would go or not. They were grumpy old blokes who were like ‘Oh, well, it was a pre-election promise – he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. My prediction, in and out, last in and first out, he’ll be there 20 minutes tops’. Well, Albo spent about six and a half hours there.”
Jackie O chimed in to point out that “He was having a great time, he was having so much fun. He was laughing at the speeches – and Oh my God, Jodie [Haydon] is the best… I want to be her friend now because she’s so fun.”
Kyle and Jackie O weren’t the only ones who enjoyed Albanese’s presence. “They sat next to my mum – Mum was so taken, they loved him. Thanks for coming, appreciate it,” said Sandilands.
“Albo actually sent me photos yesterday that he took of him with Otto and him with Mum.”
Jackie O followed up, saying that “He was dubbed the baby whisperer because when he held Otto, Otto stopped crying.”
And for those wondering (he has apparently been asked multiple times!), Kyle Sandilands also confirmed that the marriage had been consummated – “you bet your ass it was!”
