KIIS FM axes 3PM Pick Up with Kate Langbroek, Monty Dimond and Yumi Stynes

KIIS FM - 3pm pick up

There is speculation Life Uncut’s Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne may take over

KIIS FM has axed the 3PM Pick Up, hosted by Monty Dimond, Kate Langbroek and Yumi Stynes, with the weekday radio show wrapping up at the end of the year.

News of the show’s cancellation was confirmed by ARN on Friday, as reported by the Herald Sun.

ARN said in a statement to the publication: “ARN can confirm there will be changes made to its afternoon line-up in 2023, which regrettably means 3PM Pick Up hosts Monty Dimond, Yumi Stynes and Kate Langbroek will not be returning next year.”

Meanwhile, Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer, praised the trio for their work and contribution to the network over the years.

“Their infectious humour and relatable stories have seen 3PM Pick Up enjoy continued ratings success and we are truly sad to see them finish up at the end of the year,” he said.

“Their departure is in no way a reflection on the skills of these highly regarded presenters nor the success of the show. We wish them all the very best in the future,” Campbell added.

Life Uncut hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne

The Herald Sun noted that although no replacement for the KIIS FM show has been confirmed, there is speculation Life Uncut podcast hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne will take over the time slot in the new year, according to the publication.

Hockley and Byrne launched Life Uncut as a podcast in 2019 and offerings listeners a ‘nothing-off-limits’ discussion about life, love, dating, friendship and everything in between.

The duo have since developed a large following and built a supportive community online. They have also become one of Australia’s most listened to podcasts.

Their podcast success has also translated into a live radio venture. At the start of the year Life Uncut Radio Show, hosted by Hockley and Byrne with co-host Mitch Churi, launched on Saturday mornings on KIIS.
