LIBERTY X NBL

The National Basketball League (NBL) has signed non-bank lender Liberty Financial as an Official Partner for the 2026/27 season.

Liberty Financial's branding will appear on the three-point line decals at every NBL regular season game through to the NBL Finals. The deal places the brand on court when players shoot from beyond the arc.

James Boyle, Liberty Chief Executive Officer, said the announcement reflects Liberty's commitment to supporting sport and the communities it brings together.

“We're delighted to partner with the NBL and reconnect with a sport that has a culturally diverse national footprint. That ability to bring people and communities together is a big part of what makes this partnership such a great fit for Liberty. We're proud to support competitions that inspire people to challenge themselves, work together and strive for success.”

“We're particularly excited to be involved with the NBL while engaging with fans across the region.”

David Stevenson, NBL Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Liberty Financial has a strong track record of backing Australian sport, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the NBL.”

“The three-point line is where so many of our most memorable moments happen, and there's no better place for Liberty Financial to be part of the game.

“This partnership represents a shared commitment to elevating the League, with Liberty Financial helping us connect with fans across the country, and I want to personally thank James Boyle and the team at Liberty Financial for their support.”

The Hungry Jack's NBL27 season is underway, with Liberty Financial on court at every regular season game through to the Finals.

Games are shown live on ESPN, and fans can follow the league through the NBL App.

Hoop deals

The NBL deal with Liberty Financial comes after WNBL struck its own lucrative deal with Optus earlier this year.

The telco signed a three-year deal as a major partner, marking its first significant investment in Australian basketball.

The partnership spans both leagues and centres on fan engagement, community connection, and growth of the sport at professional and grassroots levels.
