Audience Group has appointed Lewis Coghlan as Head of Data Intelligence.

Working with the independent media agency’s Head of Strategy, Coghlan will develop and refine strategic tools that connect media planning to business outcomes through modelling, predictive analytics, and data-led planning.

Audience Group Managing Director, James McDonald, said: “Lewis brings a very high level of data, systems integration and database management skills that will help drive innovation and asymmetric growth for our clients.

“We’ve built out some serious capability in modelling, analytics and custom tooling to help our clients outsmart, not outspend the competition. Lewis brings the kind of systems thinking and analytical muscle that will help us push that advantage even further,” said McDonald.

Systems Thinking Meets Media Strategy

Coghlan was most recently Information Services Manager at MSQ, where he led the organisation’s digital and data infrastructure overhaul, implementing enterprise-wide systems to improve reporting, performance, and service delivery.

His previous roles include workforce analytics for eHealth Queensland and delivering reporting pipelines and digital infrastructure for MSQ. He describes his approach as “curious, collaborative, and relentlessly practical.”

“There’s a sweet spot between strategy and execution where data can actually drive results and Audience Group is working right in it,” Coghlan of his new role.

“I’m already getting stuck into evolving our tools and finding smarter ways to turn insight into action.”

A behavioural science graduate with a minor in AI and computer science, Coghlan has worked across healthcare, community services, and government.

The appointment follows other recent leadership hires at Audience Group, including Aimee Gossage (Head of Investment), Casey Greig (Head of Strategy), and Angela Rogers (Client Services Director).
