ALDI named Australia’s best-rated supermarket for ninth year
The retailer’s value, own-brand quality and store experience drove its latest 2026 customer-voted supermarket award win.

ALDI Australia has been named the country’s best-rated supermarket for overall customer satisfaction in Canstar Blue’s 2026 ratings, extending its winning streak to nine years.
The retailer has now received the Most Satisfied Customers Award 14 times since Canstar’s Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings began in 2011.
The latest award follows ALDI’s investment of more than $170 million in permanent price reductions across more than 300 products, based on customer purchasing patterns and pricing over a 12-month period.
Products including bacon, sausages, beef silverside and lamb loin chops have been reduced by up to 20 per cent.
Value drives customer ratings
ALDI Australia chief commercial officer Jordan Lack said the recognition reflected the retailer’s focus on price and product quality.

“Australians shouldn’t have to spend more to get high-quality products at the checkout,” Lack said.
He said the ninth consecutive win reinforced ALDI’s position that quality and low prices could go hand in hand, while reflecting its commitment to delivering the value customers expected.
Lack said the retailer’s Price Promise was underpinned by a commitment that ALDI would not be beaten on the cost of the weekly shop.
“That’s why we’re continuing to lower prices across our range, giving customers more opportunities to save on everyday essentials,” he said.
“Every price reduction, every efficiency and every decision we make is focused on helping Aussies get more value from every dollar they spend, thanks to our exceptionally low ALDI prices.”

Expansion beyond groceries
Over the past year, ALDI has expanded its offering beyond the weekly grocery shop. ALDI Solar has expanded into South Australia and Western Australia, while its DoorDash partnership now includes Special Buys and liquor delivery.
The retailer also earned product-level recognition in 2026, including being named Australia’s best supermarket for meat by Finder after winning 75 per cent of the meat categories in its Supermarket Customer Satisfaction Awards.
ALDI previously won Canstar’s supermarket satisfaction award in 2011, 2012, 2014 to 2016, and each year from 2018 to 2025.
