ALDI Australia has launched its 2026 Christmas campaign, ‘Time to Shine’, via BMF, with a family made entirely of tinsel fronting the supermarket’s pitch to festive shoppers. ALDI says more than half of its Christmas range is priced under $5.

The campaign follows the Tinsleys, a family that usually goes all out for Christmas but has lost some of its shine after a long year. An ALDI festive spread helps them get it back, with glazed ham, French champagne and cherry liqueurs among the products promoted in the campaign.

ALDI puts price at the centre of its Christmas pitch

ALDI Australia marketing director Jenny Melhuish said the campaign was about giving shoppers room in their budgets for the festive food and drinks they look forward to.

“This Christmas, ALDI is inviting Australians to find their sparkle again and put on the Christmas they want, without feeling like they need to compromise. Whether it's the glazed ham, the French champagne or all the festive extras that make the season special, our focus is on delivering exceptional quality at ALDI Prices Australians can count on.”

“Our Price Promise extends to our award-winning Christmas range, helping shoppers create a magical Christmas without going all out on their budget. With more than half of our Christmas range priced under $5, we're making it easier for Australians to enjoy the traditions they love while getting great value on their Christmas shop.

“Time to Shine is about embracing the joy of the season and celebrating in a way that feels right for you. ALDI has done the hard work, curating a range of festive favourites that deliver quality, value and a little extra sparkle for Christmas," she said.

The Tinsleys go from TV to the checkout

The campaign was created in partnership with Zenith Media Australia, Digitas Australia and Ogilvy PR. It runs across TV, screens, online video, radio, digital audio, cinema, display, social and out-of-home, as well as partnerships and PR. ALDI will also carry the campaign across its catalogue, website, customer emails and in-store displays.

BMF executive creative director David Fraser said: “It's been a big year, and even a family made of tinsel is feeling a little less shiny than usual. But with an affordable festive spread from ALDI, everyone can get their sparkle back without stretching the budget.”
