Total TV still leads TV-set viewing as YouTube grows
OzTAM’s Q2 data shows Total TV retains most TV-set viewing, while YouTube reaches an 11.3 per cent share.

OzTAM’s Q2 2026 Streamscape data shows Total TV retained 60.4 per cent of viewing on TV sets. Digital Video made up the remaining 39.6 per cent.
On TV sets, YouTube reached 11.3 per cent, up 0.9 percentage points from the previous quarter. Netflix held 10.5 per cent, with Disney+ at 3.1 per cent and Prime Video at 2.9 per cent.
Broadcast and BVOD keep majority

OzTAM defines Digital Video as subscription and advertising-based streaming, free ad-supported streaming television, social video and other online services. The “other video” category represented 11.8 per cent of TV-set viewing.
Younger viewers favour digital video
Digital Video made up 60.7 per cent of TV-set viewing among Australians aged 18–39. For people aged 25–54, Total TV held 50.1 per cent and Digital Video 49.9 per cent.

The results show a clear age difference in how Australians use television sets. Streamscape subscribers can access further breakdowns by age and gender.
TV sets remain the main in-home screen
The device chart on page two of the release shows TV sets accounted for 85.1 per cent of in-home video viewing. Smartphones represented 7.4 per cent, computers 4.7 per cent and tablets 2.8 per cent.
The Q2 figures cover April to June 2026 and draw on national OzTAM Panel Data and VOZ 2026. The service shares measure total minutes viewed on in-home television sets.
“Streamscape continues to provide the most complete view of how Australians engage with video across broadcast television, BVOD and digital video services,” said Karen Halligan, CEO of OzTAM. “The Q2 data reinforces the enduring strength of Total TV, while also highlighting how viewing behaviours continue to evolve across different platforms, services and audiences.”
Streamscape moves to subscriber dashboard
OzTAM introduced the interactive Streamscape dashboard earlier in 2026, replacing its former quarterly report. Subscribers can customise analysis by platform, device and demographic and track changes over time.
