The Australian Women’s Weekly strengthens its editorial roster
Kathy Lette, Caroline West and Susan Kurosawa join The Weekly as Miranda Tapsell fronts its September issue.

Are Media’s The Australian Women’s Weekly has added author and columnist Kathy Lette, GP Dr Caroline West and Travel Editor Susan Kurosawa to its contributor line-up, while actor and writer Miranda Tapsell fronts the September issue.
The appointments expand the publication’s commentary, travel and health coverage. They also coincide with the return of Ask the Doctor as a health and wellbeing platform across print, digital and social.
New voices across travel, health and commentary
Lette will write a monthly column covering life, relationships and issues facing women. Kurosawa will lead a refreshed Travel vertical for The Weekly.
West will lead Ask the Doctor, providing health information and advice for readers. Its return also marks the relaunch of The Australian Women’s Weekly’s Good Health vertical across digital, social, print and live events.

Sophie Tedmanson, Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly, said the additions were designed to combine practical advice with contributors who could inform and entertain readers.

“The Weekly has always played an important role in helping Australian women navigate their lives, whether through trusted health and financial advice, inspiring food and travel content or contributors who make us stop, think and laugh,” Tedmanson said.
“Kathy Lette is one of Australia’s most entertaining and astute observers of women’s lives, and we are thrilled to welcome her unmistakable voice to The Weekly. We are also excited to expand our Travel vertical with Susan Kurosawa bringing her trusted travel authority, insights and warmth to inspire our audience to experience Australia and the world.
“The return of Ask the Doctor is equally significant. At a time when health misinformation is increasingly difficult to navigate, Dr Caroline West brings deep expertise, empathy and a genuine ability to make complex issues feel clear and relevant.”
Health push opens commercial opportunities
Tedmanson said health and wellbeing would remain a growth area across the brand’s print, digital, social and live channels, including its Health Summit. She also pointed to opportunities for commercial partners to support health-related content.
“Health and wellbeing is a key area of interest for our audience, and one we will continue to grow across print, digital, social and live experiences, including our Health Summit. It also creates meaningful opportunities for brands to support the wellbeing of Australian women through trusted, high-quality content,” she said.
The appointments also add to the contributor offering around the recently launched My Women’s Weekly membership platform.
Regular contributors include Chrissie Swan and Edwina Bartholomew across community, Effie Zahos across money, and food contributors Maggie Beer, Julie Goodwin, Laura Sharrad, Depinder Chhibber, Karima Hazim and Fran Abdallaoui.
The September issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly, featuring Tapsell on the cover, is on sale nationally from Monday, 10 August.
