The network said News24 reflects its shift from a traditional Australian linear television channel into a multi-platform news business with a growing global audience.

Paul Whittaker, Chief Executive Officer of Sky News Australia, said the change marks “a new era of news” for the business.

“Since we launched thirty years ago as Australia’s first 24-hour news channel, we have grown to become a trusted and central part of Australian journalism,” Whittaker said.

“Today’s announcements further solidify our commitment and investment in delivering premium news coverage and incisive commentary that informs on the vital issues shaping our nation and the world.”
