Sian Chadwick appointed ANZ Chief Marketing Officer

Sian Chadwick steps up as ANZ's new marketing chief, adding CMO duties to her existing retail marketing leadership roles

ANZ has appointed Sian Chadwick as Chief Marketing Officer, effective immediately, in addition to her current role as General Manager, Marketing, Australia Retail. 

Chadwick takes over from Astrud Burgess, who steps down as CMO after three years in the role to focus on ANZ New Zealand's customer and growth agenda. Burgess continues as Managing Director Customer Propositions, New Zealand. 

As CMO, Chadwick will hold enterprise-wide accountability for ANZ's marketing agenda, including brand strategy and identity, marketing effectiveness, governance of marketing investment and coordination of marketing activity across the group. 

The appointment 

ANZ Group Executive, Australia Retail, Pedro Rodeia, said Chadwick was a highly respected marketing leader. "Sian is a highly respected marketing leader with deep expertise across brand, customer engagement and transformation," said Rodeia. 

"She is highly regarded for building capability, bringing teams together and delivering strong outcomes for customers and the business. We are delighted to appoint her as ANZ's Chief Marketing Officer and look forward to her leadership as we continue to strengthen our marketing effectiveness and customer focus." 

Chadwick said she was honoured to take on the dual role at a significant time for the bank. 

"I'm excited to build on the strong foundations established by Astrud and the team, continuing to strengthen our marketing capability, enhance how we measure impact and ensure every marketing investment delivers value for our customers and the business," said Chadwick.

Burgess's tenure Rodeia also acknowledged Burgess's contribution as CMO. 

"Astrud has made a significant contribution to ANZ's marketing function, strengthening our marketing capability and measurement practices, leading the rollout of our new brand identity and championing marketing's role as a strategic driver of customer and business growth," said Rodeia.
