Scarlett Johansson’s skincare brand shuts down after four years
Johansson has not made a personal statement at this time.

Founded by Hollywood celebrity Scarlett Johansson, skincare brand The Outset has announced that it has officially closed.
“After an incredible journey, The Outset has made the decision to wind down operations,” a statement on the brand's website reads.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who welcomed us into their routines and supported us along the way.”
The Outset was founded in 2022 by Johansson, 41, and business partner Kate Foster, who is an entrepreneur and beauty/fashion executive.
In June 2021, Johansson announced her foray into beauty, and that it would be backed by The Najafi Companies (the investors behind Tracee Ellis Ross’ Pattern Beauty and Millie Bobby Brown’s Florence by Mills).
The actor said the brand would offer a “clean, accessible approach to beauty.”

In her launch announcement, Johansson said: "I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child.
“My mother instilled in me a passion for self care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me.”
In the last four years, The Outset was stocked at retailers including Sephora, Goop and Nordstrom.
The Outset is the second popular celebrity brand to have faltered this year. In February, Gwen Stefani’s GXVE Beauty was no longer being sold at Sephora after its online store previously closed.
Johansson has not made a public, personal statement at this time.
