QMusic appoints Kristy Ellis as CEO

QMusic has appointed Kristy Ellis as chief executive following a national recruitment process.

Ellis has served as interim CEO of Queensland’s peak music industry body since April. Her permanent appointment follows a search conducted by u&u Recruitment Partners, which began in May.

Ellis appointed after interim tenure

As CEO, Ellis will oversee QMusic’s industry programs and events, including Industry Connect, Concert Care, BIGSOUND and the Queensland Music Awards.

More than two decades of experience

Ellis has more than 20 years of experience across the creative industries, sport, major events and commercial management.

She has previously worked with the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, Queensland Rugby Union and TEDxBrisbane, and has served on the board of Ballet Theatre Queensland.

Ellis said: “It is a privilege to lead QMusic permanently at such a dynamic time for Queensland music. Over the past several months, working alongside our team, members, and key stakeholders, it has become even clearer how much talent and opportunity exist across our state's music ecosystem.
