Nine Entertainment has selected Domo as its central AI and data platform, replacing multiple reporting systems with a single governed analytics environment.
The move is intended to simplify reporting across Nine’s television, streaming, publishing and digital businesses, where years of growth and mergers had left the company managing fragmented reporting systems and inconsistent metrics.
Reducing reporting complexity
Barry Quinn, Head of Analytics Insights at Nine Entertainment, said consolidation became necessary as reporting complexity increased.
“As simplification and modernisation are central to our data strategy, consolidating onto a single analytics platform became essential,” he said.
“Managing multiple platforms created unnecessary friction and made consistent reporting harder than it needed to be.”
After evaluating several options, Nine selected Domo because it offered a more intuitive user experience, lower operating costs, and the ability to support both analysts and non-technical users within a single governed system.
During the early migration phase, Nine’s data team delivered nearly 50 dashboards in the first two weeks, the company said, exceeding the pace achieved under previous tools.
Natural language analytics emerges as a differentiator
Nine also identified Domo’s natural language querying capability as a major factor in the decision, allowing staff without technical expertise to explore data independently while maintaining governance and trust across reporting.
The rollout is being delivered in partnership with Altis Consulting, which worked with Nine to reduce reporting duplication, rationalise legacy reports and migrate datasets into the new environment.

Katrina Pilcher
Katrina Pilcher, Chief Operating Officer at Altis Consulting, said the work extended beyond simple dashboard migration.
“This project went beyond migrating dashboards. We helped Nine streamline reporting and fully leverage Domo to meet complex requirements and enable trusted, self-service analytics.”
Next phase moves toward automation
Nine is now using Domo Apps to create reusable reporting experiences tailored to different teams across the organisation, with shared logic designed to reduce duplication and improve consistency.
The next phase of the rollout is expected to introduce automated workflows that monitor data patterns and alert teams when trends emerge.

Peter Steggall
Peter Steggall, Vice President APAC at Domo, said Nine was looking for something more practical than another dashboard platform.
“Nine is a great example of a modern media company rethinking how data actually gets used day to day. They were looking for more than just dashboards; they wanted fewer tools, faster delivery, and something their teams could actually use. Domo gives them a foundation they can build on over time.”
