News Corp Australia has tightened its grip on the digital news market, reaching 80.4 per cent of online Australians in March, with audience growth and video consumption driving renewed momentum across its network.

According to Ipsos Iris rankings released Friday, 18.15 million Australians visited News Corp Australia sites in March, 2.4 million more than its nearest competitor.

Engagement also ticked higher, with users averaging 149 browser page views per person, up 3.25 per cent month-on-month.

Within the News category alone, the publisher delivered an audience of 14.4 million, alongside 619 million browser page views and an average time spent of 60 minutes per person.

Video growth accelerates

Video continues to emerge as a key growth lever, with more than 103 million views recorded across the network – a 23.81 per cent increase on the previous month.

In the News category, video accounted for 70.2 per cent of all views, totalling 76 million for the month.

Managing Director and Publisher Free News and Lifestyle, Pippa Leary, said the results reflect both scale and deeper engagement across the portfolio.

“March results show strong momentum across our network. We reached 80.4 per cent of online Australians, and 18.15 million people visited our sites, with engaged reach lifting to an average of 149 browser page views per person.

“Video also continues to grow, delivering more than 103 million views across the network. With deeper engagement and rapid video growth, we’re able to deliver stronger outcomes for clients.”

Key brands drive performance

Flagship site news.com.au led the charge with an audience of 12.11 million and 388 million browser page views, alongside record engagement metrics.

The title delivered 64 million video views, up 21.07 per cent month-on-month, while its 18–24 audience grew 4.8 per cent.

Elsewhere, taste.com.au attracted an audience of 4 million and 63.7 million browser page views, while CODE Sports and SuperCoach both posted double-digit engagement growth.
