Medibank has confirmed the appointment of Geoff Ikin as its new chief marketing officer, filling the position left vacant following the passing of Lisa Ronson in late 2024.
Ikin, currently chief customer officer at Myer, will step into the role in December.
Remembering Lisa Ronson
Ronson died in November last year after an accident at her regional Victorian property. Her loss was felt deeply across the marketing and media industry, with colleagues describing her as a kind, empathetic leader.
At the time a Medibank spokesperson told The Australian: “We were devastated by the tragic passing of Lisa Ronson. Lisa was brilliant, loved and a much-respected member of our team at Medibank. She touched our lives with her huge heart, and we miss her.
“Geoff and Lisa were good friends and worked together for many years with similar shared values to work and family. We like to think Lisa would strongly endorse Geoff joining the Medibank team, a sentiment echoed by her family Chris and Ben.”

Ikin’s career background
Ikin has spent nearly seven years at Myer, overseeing customer-facing operations including ecommerce expansion and the development of the retailer’s loyalty program.
He also worked at Tourism Australia as general manager of global media, PR and social, where he collaborated closely with Ronson during her time as CMO. His earlier career includes senior roles at Westpac and David Jones.
Reflecting on his time at Myer, Ikin told The Australian: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with Myer over the past seven years and what we’ve achieved, from the expansion of ecommerce to creating a leading loyalty program and seeing the company return to one of Australia’s most trusted brands. I’m proud to leave the brand in the hands of a strong leadership team with a clear path forward.”
Since July 2025, Medibank’s interim CMO duties have been carried out by Carolyn Bendall, who stepped in while the company searched for a permanent successor. Ikin’s appointment will see him take over the role formally before the end of the year.
