HOYTS Cinemas has confirmed it will exclusively screen *K-Pop Demon Hunters: Sing-Along Version* across Australia and New Zealand, aligning local release dates with the international event on Saturday 23 August and Sunday 24 August 2025.
The special screenings will invite fans to experience Netflix’s record-breaking animated film in an interactive format, complete with on-screen lyrics and premium cinema sound. It marks a new chapter for the global hit, which Netflix says is now the most-watched original animated film in the platform’s history.
The film follows K-pop idols turned demon slayers Rumi, Mira, and Zoey – voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo – as they balance fame, friendship and fighting the Honmoon. The sing-along edition encourages audience participation and celebrates the film’s fanbase, including devotees of fictional idol groups HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys.
HOYTS’ exclusive rights to the Australian and New Zealand run ensure local fans won’t miss out on the international celebration. With screenings set for the same weekend as global markets, the event is expected to draw strong interest from K-pop communities across both countries.
