Home and Away is preparing to film in Western Australia for the first time in its 37-year history.
The production will relocate from its well-known home on Sydney’s northern beaches to shoot a special storyline across a range of Western Australian locations in October.
The move is part of a collaboration with Tourism Western Australia and marks a rare interstate production shift for the series.
WA’s landscapes set the scene
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the production has confirmed that a major storyline will unfold across several WA backdrops, from Perth’s cityscape to the state’s coastal and inland regions.
According to Home and Away Series Producer Lucy Addario, the decision to film in Western Australia reflects both creative ambition and the appeal of the state’s natural beauty.
“Our cast and crew are beyond excited to be filming in Western Australia – a first for Home and Away. Its awe-inspiring beauty, diverse landscapes and sheer scale make it the perfect backdrop for this huge storyline,” Addario said.
“Working with the Tourism Western Australia team has been an absolute joy and we can’t wait for audiences to fall in love with WA like we have.”
Filming is scheduled for October and will feature a combination of metropolitan, coastal and outback locations.
The episodes filmed in Western Australia are expected to air in 2026 on Seven and 7plus, as part of a planned Home and Away storyline event. The production has not confirmed which cast members will be involved.
