Ash Bradnam departs Nova 106.9 after 20 years

The departure closes one of the most recognisable chapters in Brisbane radio.

Nova 106.9 has confirmed that long-time Brisbane breakfast host Ash Bradnam has officially signed off, departing The Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne Show after two decades on air.

Bradnam delivered his final break this morning, closing one of the most recognisable chapters in Brisbane radio. The station will announce a new breakfast lineup in the coming weeks.

Bradnam told listeners he’d “had the time of my life… I’ve loved this job… and I really feel like I’ve had the full brekkie radio experience.” He added, “I’ve sat in this chair every day for two decades… I’m going to miss working with you, Lutts, I love you. And to the listeners, thank you… I’ve absolutely loved sharing my mornings with you.”

His long-time co-host David “Luttsy” Lutteral paid tribute, calling him “a true radio man… a legend of his craft and a brilliant talent,” adding that “nobody has had a greater impact on Nova Brisbane in its history.”

Network leadership pays tribute as search for new lineup continues

Bradnam’s legacy extends across every Nova 106.9 breakfast era since the station’s 2005 launch – a consistency rarely seen in any market.

Nova’s Group Programming Director Brendan Taylor said Bradnam had “built a genuine and lasting bond with listeners” and been “instrumental in driving excellent results for the Breakfast show.” CEO Peter Charlton said he had “played a pivotal role in shaping the success of Nova 106.9.”

Nova 106.9 says its new breakfast show will be announced “in due course,” marking one of the most closely watched programming decisions in the Brisbane market heading into 2026.
