Amanda Duthie appointed Netflix ANZ content director

Amanda Duthie joins Netflix as Content Director for ANZ, with Katherine Slattery appointed Content Manager.

Amanda Duthie has been appointed Content Director for Netflix ANZ, joining from Stan where she served as Head of Originals and commissioned a slate of local productions.

Duthie steps into the role previously held by Que Minh Luu, who exited the streamer in April. She will be joined by Katherine Slattery, appointed as Content Manager, ANZ.

Slattery moves from Matchbox Pictures, where she spent over four years as Scripted Development Manager.

Minyoung Kim, Netflix Vice President, Content (APAC ex-India), took to LinkedIn to announce Duthie’s new role: “Amanda’s exceptional track record as a creative and her highly respected leadership within the local screen industry impressed me deeply. I was particularly struck by her knowledge, passion and expertise, and I look forward to working closely with her to continue the success of the ANZ slate at Netflix.

“And in further good news, excited to share that Katherine Slattery will also be joining Netflix in the role of Content Manager, ANZ.”

Kim also reflected on the platform’s regional engagement: “Over the past months I’ve had the pleasure of reconnecting in person with our key partners in ANZ, and been reminded of Netflix’s vital role in the local industry. I am truly grateful for their insights.”

Duthie said of her new role: “Really excited to be joining the Netflix ANZ content team. As a fan, I’ve loved seeing how Netflix has helped shape the entertainment scene with such a great mix of local and global shows. I’ve always been passionate about telling local stories, so can’t wait to build on what’s already been achieved and work with all the talented creative partners across ANZ to take our content even further.”

Slattery added: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Netflix ANZ team alongside Amanda Duthie. Netflix’s reputation for entertainment is unparalleled, and I can’t wait to work with Amanda, the ANZ team, and all our talented creatives to expand on the incredible legacy of our region with new shows that challenge and excite audiences.”

Stan is yet to announce Duthie’s replacement.
