ALDI reveals Australia's most-purchased products in 2026 People's Picks
For the first time, the retailer has used DoorDash ordering data, rather than customer voting, to reveal its most-purchased products of 2026.

ALDI has announced the winners of its 2026 People's Picks Awards, with the retailer using DoorDash ordering data for the first time to identify its most-purchased products.
The awards recognise the top-selling products across nine categories based on customer purchasing behaviour through ALDI on DoorDash.
DoorDash data replaces customer voting
The 2026 awards mark a change from previous years, with DoorDash ordering insights replacing customer voting.
Category winners include Bakers Life All Butter Croissants, Almat Laundry Liquid, Dairy Fine Milk Chocolate Block, Damora Eton Original Crackers, Elmsbury Spinach & Ricotta Triangles, Brooklea No Added Sugar Strawberry Yogurt Pouch, Sprinters Corn Chips Cheese Extreme, Deli Originals Fresh Hommus Dip and Jindurra Station 5 Star Beef Mince.
Simon Padovani-Ginies, Group Director at ALDI Australia, said the retailer had changed the format of the People's Picks Awards this year by replacing customer voting with DoorDash ordering insights, allowing purchasing behaviour to determine the winners.
"The People's Picks Awards have always celebrated the products our shoppers love, but this year we decided to let the baskets do the talking," he said.
He said the data showed Australians were repeatedly purchasing products across breakfast, snacks and entertaining categories, with affordability also playing a role. Eight of the nine winning products retail for less than $5.

DoorDash APAC Vice President Simon Rossi said the partnership offered insight into how Australians are shopping through the platform, with the data highlighting the products customers ordered most frequently throughout the year.
"This year's People's Picks Awards provide a fascinating look at real shopping behaviour, highlighting the products customers are purchasing most often," Rossi said.
New shopping awards introduced
ALDI and DoorDash also launched a series of "Behind the Basket Awards", recognising notable shopping behaviours identified through ordering data.
The awards included a New South Wales customer who placed an order despite living eight metres above an ALDI store, a single banana order recognised as the "One-Item Wonder", and a 149-item order worth $665 named "Cart of the Year".
New South Wales recorded the highest volume of ALDI on DoorDash orders, while Tarneit in Victoria was the busiest suburb for the service.
“The People's Picks Awards tell us which products Australians love most, but these new accolades highlight the stories behind the baskets. From ambitious stock-ups and New Year's Eve planning to a customer ordering from just eight metres above their local ALDI, the insights reveal there is no limit to how creatively Australians embrace the convenience of ALDI on DoorDash to access the high-quality products and ALDI prices they know and love,” Padovani-Ginies said.
