7NEWS to broadcast Derryn Hinch's state funeral live

Seven will broadcast live coverage of the state funeral for veteran broadcaster Derryn Hinch, with the special commencing at 12 pm AEST on Monday.
7NEWS presenter Karina Carvalho will host the broadcast, airing live on Seven in Sydney and Melbourne and nationally on 7plus.
Hinch, known as the "Human Headline", died on 10 July 2026, aged 82, following a decades-long career at 3AW and a stint as a federal senator.
Service details
The funeral will be held at The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne. Broadcaster Darren James, a long-time friend of Hinch, will serve as master of ceremonies. Ray Martin will deliver a tribute, sharing personal stories from Hinch's life and career.
A number of figures from Melbourne's media, political and public spheres are expected to attend.
