WiredCo. has welcomed four new hires after recently experiencing rapid growth in the last year.

The independent agency reported a revenue increase of 70.5%, which coincides with the team’s growth by almost 70%.

Ange Hampton, founder and managing director of WiredCo. said ironically attributes the growth to saying ‘no’ this year.

Hampton explained: “Part of our purpose of ‘moving humanly’ means saying “no” to unnecessary means of growth. And that has included accepting work that isn’t aligned with our values and participating in competitive pitches.

“They’re costly, cumbersome and time-consuming; and to be frank, appointments should be made on chemistry and credentials anyway.

“It was hard to say no at first but by sticking to our values, we’ve been rewarded in ways we couldn’t have imagined, including record team retention and exceeding our revenue targets by 21% in FY22,” added Hampton.

Thanks to the its ‘Recruit Your Mates’ initiative, the agency has found solid talent with four new appointments made in the last six weeks alone.

Joining the agency are Audrey Joseph – creative and content manager, Nelson Elvery-Porter – campaign manager, Dean Fernance – community manager, and Carley Paulsen – social media specialist.

Speaking about the positive impact of saying ‘no’ managing partner David Kennedy-Cosgrove said: “Our existing clients liked the fact that we were concentrating on them and not chasing the next big thing. The creative got better and so did the results.

“That led to more projects from existing clients and more than a few referrals. Indeed and Georg Jensen gave us their global and regional business, without pitch,” David added.

The Wired Agency

Last month, the WiredCo. announced it was rebranding from The Wired Agency.

Along with the new name are a new logo and a website revamp to mark the new era for the independent agency.

At the time, Hampton said of the rebrand: “The change symbolises a new chapter for our business. Growing from a two-person gig just a few years ago, to an incredibly connected and talented 32-person business, WiredCo. is at the top of its game so it’s a perfect time for this change.

“Our updated brand and name reflects a maturing of our agency and of who we are – we’re connected, and we move brands digitally, humanly,” she added.
