Westpac has signed a wide-reaching deal with Cricket Australia (CA), becoming the Principal Partner of the men’s and women’s national cricket teams from July 1.
As part of the agreement, the Westpac logo will appear on the playing kits of Australia’s Test, One-Day International and T20 teams, as well as on Australia A and under-19 squads. The deal also sees Westpac join as an Official Partner of the Big Bash and WBBL competitions.
The partnership is focused on more than elite cricket, with Westpac also committing to a series of initiatives designed to grow participation and improve access to the game, particularly for women, First Nations players, and athletes with disabilities.
“We’re excited to step up to the crease and back Australian cricket,” said Anthony Miller, Chief Executive Officer, Westpac Group. “Like Westpac, cricket in Australia has a long and proud history stretching back 200 years. As Australia’s oldest bank, we’re proud to join forces with one of Australia’s oldest sports.”
Miller noted the agreement marks the first time a single sponsor will feature simultaneously on both the men’s and women’s home playing shirts. “We look forward to investing in Australian cricket across all forms of the game.” he added.
Todd Greenberg, Chief Executive Officer, Cricket Australia, said the partnership reflected “a shared commitment to making a positive impact on the field and in the community.”
“Westpac’s support will directly contribute to initiatives that elevate participation and visibility in our sport and help support our vision of making cricket a sport for all,” Greenberg said.
Backing grassroots and diversity in cricket
The partnership includes four pillars of community investment:
• Club and volunteer recognition: Westpac becomes presenting partner of the national community cricket awards, recognising everyday contributors to the sport.
• Women’s advancement: New initiatives will be launched to support women in cricket, including leadership programs for coaches, managers, and administrators.
• Inclusion support: Westpac will back the National Cricket Inclusion Championships and disability cricket programs, including for players who are blind, deaf, or have intellectual disabilities.
• First Nations participation: The bank will be presenting partner of the National Indigenous Cricket Championships and Indigenous international matches.
The first matches to feature Westpac branding will take place in August when Australia plays South Africa. The summer schedule also includes matches against India and the 2025/26 Ashes series.
