Seven was again a big Saturday TV ratings winner with Saturday night football over half a million.
It was a different story for the ABC where Saturday night has traditionally been a happy TV ratings hunting ground. Saturday share fell off a cliff in late March close to when the AFL started its 2021 season and when the ABC moved The Durrells into the 7.30pm timeslot.
Seven
Seven News Saturday was #1 in the Saturday TV ratings with 791,000. The AFL was then on 532,000 with viewers in Sydney and Brisbane seeing home teams win while viewers in Melbourne had to keep viewing until the final minute to learn if Geelong was to overcome the Swans.
Nine
Nine News Saturday was on 791,000 with A Current Affair Saturday following on 480,000.
Getaway usually finds a spot in the Saturday top 10 and it did it again yesterday with 300,000.
Space Invaders was on 294,000 and then the channel devoted the evening to Elton John with the movie Rocketman (278,000) and then Elton John Uncensored (187,000).

The primary channel had its best Saturday share of the year. There were no TV ratings giants, but The Dog House on 269,000 and Ambulance UK on 187,000 were much more competitive.
ABC
As noted above Saturday TV ratings shares have been terrible for the past few weeks. The 6.3% last night was the lowest this year as viewers haven’t warmed at all the Keeley Hawes drama double of The Durrells (266,000) followed by Finding Alice (168,000).
SBS
SBS News started on 174,000 and dropped to 130,000 after 7pm. A repeat episode of World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys lifted the number higher to 170,000 and then a repeat of Britain’s Most Historic Towns was on 120,000.
