Seven’s Saturday Night football finals topped Total TV with a growth of 1,012,000 lifting by 0%.

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to ABC’s The Newsreader, where the Total TV audience grew by 89% to reach 191,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, September 23

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 28.3% and 36%, respectively. 7mate won the multichannels with 3.1%.

Seven’s Saturday Night AFL saw the Lions take a 16-point victory over Carlton ending with 79-63. 1,046,000 tuned in. Brisbane’s win against Carlton book them a spot in next week’s Grand Final showdown against Collingwood at the MCG.

Nine’s coverage of the Broncos v Warriors match saw 747,000 tune in as the Broncos smashed with 42-12. With the Broncos win, they are on their way to their first grand final appearance since 2015 and are set to face the Panthers, who are making their fourth consecutive GF appearance and are looking for a win to complete their three-peat status and go down in NRL history. 

On the ABC, Shakespeare and Hathaway was viewed by 305,000 as Frank and Lu are called to enter the competitive world of ballroom dancing. Vera saw 291,000 as Vera investigated a death and a mysterious fire.

10 aired The Dog House Australia to 110,000 as the program met with the pomeranian, Prince who was ready to find a new owner.

SBS aired World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys to 74,000.

On Fox Footy, Brisbane beat Carlton 79-63 in front of 377,000.

Fox League saw the Broncos smash the Warriors 42-12 as 301,00 tuned in.
