Seven enjoyed a comfortable win last night after securing a robust 31.9% primary channel share, alongside the top network share of the night as well with 38.9%. It is fair to assume that a large portion of this audience share was made up of fans of the royals, with The Platinum Party at the Palace being the top entertainment show of the evening with 825,000 viewers. A repeat of The Queen Unseen then followed with 317,000 viewers.

On Nine, Celebrity Apprentice Australia had 388,000 viewers as the program saw the celebs challenged to write and illustrate an original children’s book. The episode ended with Will and Woody falling on their sword and suggesting that they be the ones fired (to which Lord Sugar obliged).

Earlier in the day, Nine’s NRL coverage of the Canberra Raiders edging out the Sydney Roosters had 261,000 viewers, with 148,000 watching from Sydney.

MasterChef Australia was the top program for 10 last night with 504,000 tuning in as Marco Pierre White was back in the kitchen with Marco’s “Pantry Favourites” – extra virgin olive oil, chardonnay vinegar, red wine vinegar, brandy, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, capers, ketchup, honey, Dijon mustard, cornichons, tabasco sauce, red currant jelly and anchovies. The episode saw Harry go home after her whole baked flounder with herb butter sauce didn’t live up to expectations. The episode was the top entertainment show in all key demos and was also slightly up on last week’s 500,000 viewers.

On the ABC, Grand Designs had 382,000 viewers before Barons then had 115,000 viewers.

The top non-news program on SBS was Death in the Tower: King Richard with 103,000 viewers.
