Seven and Nine tied on primary shares, AFL lifts Seven to #1 network

Seven and Nine each ended Saturday TV ratings with a primary share of 18.9%. Seven was ranked #1 network though with the AFL being shown on 7mate in Perth with nearly as many watching the Eagles play Port Adelaide on the multichannel as there were people in Melbourne watching on Seven.

Nine’s TV ratings were driven by its Saturday night double of Space Invaders and then the movie The Bourne Legacy. Last week we labeled Space Invaders as a Nine movie. It is in fact the lifestyle show that features specialists on decluttering, renovation and treasure hunting – Peter Walsh, Cherie Barber and Lucas Callaghan. The Space Invaders team attracted 336,000. The fourth movie in the Bourne franchise, and the first without Matt Damon in the title role, then did 232,000.

A refreshed ABC Saturday night line-up saw the channel slump to its lowest Saturday primary share of the year on 8.9%. Two of the series filling the primetime slots still managed to rank top 10 – the new Finding Alice on 309,000, and series four of The Durrells on 294,000.
