TV Demand: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series comes to an end

• The Falcon and the Winter Soldier came to the end of its six episode run this week

Once again topping all four TV demand charts this week is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. After coming to the end of its six episode run this week, the series has set up a launch pad for a fourth Captain America movie, with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman writing the script for the film.

This week The Falcon and the Winter Soldier comes in at 34.5 points higher than the average in Australia, and 24.1 times higher in New Zealand.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is the third Disney+ show in a row to hit the number one spot after The Mandalorian took the top spot ahead of their second season launch in October 2020. WandaVision took over as the show to beat on February 2nd this year.

Last week Game of Thrones turned ten, bringing the iconic show a strong week on the charts. It came in at fourth on the Overall Australian charts at 22.52 points above market average, and third in New Zealand with 17.35 points above the market average.

This week the anniversary celebrations have continued, with Game of Thrones coming in third on both charts. In Australia it’s risen above last week’s performance with 23.2 points difference from market average, while staying steady in New Zealand at 17.3 points above market average.

Whilst fans of the show still hold a grudge about the last seasons of the show and the endings that the people of Westeros were given, viewers still seem to be switching back on to mark the anniversary of Game of Thrones. After all, for all the gripes the fanbase had with the ending, this is still the show that gave us moments like The Red Wedding and Hodor holding the door.
