TorchMedia has expanded its Sydney Metro advertising network with the addition of 23 more trains to its portfolio for on-train advertising.
Available formats include Interior Landscapes, Portraits, and full interior train dominations, and is expanded to Sydney Metro fleet services all stations along the M1 Northwest and CBD line, from Tallawong to Sydenham.
The transit media provider has offered advertising on the original 22 Metro Trains since 2020, along with static formats at stations from Tallawong to Chatswood, and a digital screen network at Northwest stations introduced in 2023.

Dollisson: ‘We are excited to be adding these new On-Train advertising opportunities to our existing Sydney Metro Portfolio.’
TorchMedia Chief Executive Officer Kirsty Dollisson said: “We are excited to be adding these new On-Train advertising opportunities to our existing Sydney Metro Portfolio.
“The Sydney Metro offers passengers convenient, frequent services in a premium, uncluttered environment, making Metro On-Train advertising the ideal location to engage with time-poor Sydneysiders on the go.”
“This new inventory allows us to provide more advertisers with the opportunity to reach in-demand passenger audiences on their journey and extends the coverage for our existing clients beyond the Northwest corridor into the city and some of Sydney’s fastest growing suburbs,” Dollisson added.
The opening of the Chatswood to Sydenham extension in August 2024 has led to higher-than-expected patronage, with many services reaching capacity during morning peak hours.

Dollisson: ‘This new inventory allows us to provide more advertisers with the opportunity to reach in-demand passenger audiences on their journey.’
According to Transport for NSW Open Data (Jan–Apr 2025), the Metro now averages more than 5.5 million passenger journeys each month. Weekend travel has also grown significantly, with trips tripling since the extension launched.
Sydney Metro is Australia’s first driverless railway system, with future expansion plans including an extension of the M1 line to Bankstown in 2026, and the development of Metro West and Metro Western Sydney Airport lines.
Advertising on the new Metro Trains is available for booking from today.
