talkSPORT Australia has launched with a local World Cup series produced with News Corp Australia and NOVA Entertainment.

talkSPORT has expanded into Australia with a new local YouTube channel and its first Australian original series, talkSPORT World Cup Shootout.

The launch brings together News Corp Australia and NOVA Entertainment, with the series produced for YouTube and podcast platforms. New episodes will drop weekly during the FIFA World Cup tournament period.

talkSPORT World Cup Shootout is hosted by football commentators Andy Harper, Teo Pellizzeri and Kat Sasso. The trio will cover major moments, emerging storylines, controversies and predictions through an Australian lens.

The series will also feature former Socceroos players and talkSPORT’s international football experts throughout the tournament.

News Corp Australia leads digital distribution

News Corp Australia will operate the new talkSPORT Australia YouTube channel and syndicate episodes across news.com.au, CODE Sports and SuperCoach.

The company said those platforms reach more than 4 million Australians, citing Ipsos iris Online Audience Measurement Service data from April 2026.

Ryan Hedditch, News Corp Australia General Manager, Commercial Video, Audio & Branded Content, said the launch reflects the company’s investment in original sports video.

“At News Corp Australia, our vision is to tell the stories that matter, and for millions of Australians, nothing matters more than the drama of a World Cup,” Hedditch said.

“We are heavily investing in building premium, original video franchises, and talkSPORT World Cup Shootout is a marquee example of this strategy in action.”

NOVA continues talkSPORT partnership

NOVA Entertainment has partnered with talkSPORT since 2023, giving Australian audiences access to Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League coverage through the Nova Player.

Adam Johnson, NOVA Entertainment Chief Growth Officer, said the new collaboration combined talkSPORT’s football access, News Corp Australia’s digital network and NOVA’s production and audio audience reach.

“With NOVA having successfully partnered with both talkSPORT UK and News Corp Australia across streaming and podcasts, this is a great opportunity for us all to come together around the world’s biggest sporting event this year,” Johnson said.

In the UK, talkSPORT reaches 3.6 million listeners each week, according to Radio Joint Audience Research results for Q1 2026.

talkSPORT World Cup Shootout is available now on the talkSPORT Australia YouTube channel and all major podcast platforms.
