Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed Matt Dickson as Western Australia Commercial Strategy Leader, marking a strategic move to bolster its presence and commercial capability in the state.
Reporting to Megan Tuckey, incoming WA Head of Commercial, Dickson will lead commercial audio growth across agency, direct and regional markets. His focus will include developing market strategies, expanding the reach of brands such as LiSTNR, Mix94.5, and Triple M, and delivering integrated, data-driven campaigns.
He will also oversee product innovation, leveraging streaming audio and podcasting trends to position SCA as the leading media publisher for advertising revenue in the WA market.
With more than 20 years in media and creative leadership, Dickson returns to SCA following roles at Nine Entertainment as Client Solutions Lead and previously as National Head of Creativity – The Studio at SCA. His campaigns have received recognition from LIA, The One Show, and the New York Festivals.
“I’m thrilled to be returning to SCA at such an exciting time for audio,” Dickson said. “As the most capable full-funnel medium, audio offers incredible potential. I’m looking forward to getting into market to help solve WA clients’ marketing challenges through SCA’s suite of assets.”
Luke Minto, SCA’s National Head of Audio Sales, highlighted the market opportunity: “The WA market is thriving for SCA, with a dominant 49.7 per cent share of the 25–54 audience in Perth… and a 100 per cent share of regional WA radio. Matt is a renowned audio evangelist, and his move to SCA is a brilliant step forward.”
His appointment follows a series of leadership moves by SCA to strengthen its WA operations, including Tuckey’s start as Head of Commercial and the recent promotions of Robert Iannazzo to Executive General Manager – Adelaide and WA, and Remi Barley to General Manager and Head of Sales – WA Regional.
Dickson will begin in the role on September 1.
