Australia’s biggest outdoor cinema experience is turning 30.
Moonlight Cinema will return this summer with its trademark mix of blockbuster premieres and nostalgic favourites, alongside a full suite of sponsorship packages from Val Morgan Cinema.
The 2025–26 season kicks off in late November and runs through to April across five well-known Botanic Gardens and Parklands in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
This year’s program blends global tentpoles and fan favourites: Wicked: For Good and Avatar: Fire & Ash headline the new releases, while classics including Home Alone, The Notebook and Love Actually will also screen.
“Moonlight Cinema has been part of Australia’s cultural fabric for more than three decades now – a place where generations of Australians have made memories with family and friends,” said Clare Whiteman, General Manager, Group Partnerships, EVT.
“Each summer we see audiences return for the atmosphere as much as the films, and it’s our brand partnerships that help make these experiences so memorable.”

Audience and engagement
Moonlight continues to draw strong crowds, with families and female audiences at its core. Attendees typically spend hours on site, creating what organisers describe as a highly engaged environment for advertisers.
“For 30 years, Moonlight Cinema has been a beloved part of the Aussie summer, and it continues to offer brands a premium platform to align with the biggest blockbuster content and connect with high value audiences in a relaxed, social setting,” said Paul MacGregor, Director of Strategy and Marketing at Val Morgan.
“The scale and flexibility of brand integration is exceptional, whether through national on-screen campaigns, immersive on-site activations, or product sampling.”
Val Morgan Cinema has outlined a range of scalable sponsorship options, from Presenting Partner rights and national category exclusivity to state-based partnerships, on-screen advertising and custom activations. Product sampling, experiential activations and on-site placement remain core parts of the offering.
The full season will run across:
• Sydney: Belvedere Amphitheatre, Centennial Parklands
• Melbourne: Central Lawn, Royal Botanic Gardens
• Brisbane: Roma Street Parklands
• Perth: Kings Park Botanic Garden
• Adelaide: Botanic Park
